Removing Hair Dye Stains From a Porcelain Sink

Hair dye easily splatters and dribbles during the process of coloring your hair. When hair dye stains your porcelain sink, the liquid quickly soaks into the porcelain enamel surface. Despite the toughness and durability of porcelain, the surface is porous and easily scratched or damaged. You can remove hair dye stains from your porcelain sink with common household supplies that are safe and effective on porcelain surfaces.

Things You'll Need

A non-metallic sponge cleans porcelain without scratching.

Bleach removes a variety of dye and pigment stains from porcelain.

Treat any remaining hair dye stain on the porcelain with bleach. Moisten a rag with bleach and lay it over the stain for five minutes. Remove the rag and rinse the porcelain with water. Repeat this step until the hair dye stain is gone.
