Removing Scuff Marks From Leather Heels With Toothpaste

Leather is renowned for its glossy shine and sturdy construction. A pair of black leather heels can add flair to any outfit, whether it's for a business occasion or a casual night out with friends. Regular use increases the chance of scuffing and scratching, and no one likes to walk around in a pair of ragged heels. Instead of replacing your pair after the first scuff mark, buff it out with a small bead of toothpaste and a wool buffing pad.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe away any dirt or debris from the leather heel with a damp microfiber cloth. The area should be free from all dirt prior to buffing.

    • 2

Apply a bead of non-gel toothpaste to your fingertip and spread it over the scuffed area. Once you finish, the entire scuff should be covered with a generous amount of toothpaste.

    • 3

Buff the area using the wool pad. Use firm pressure and a rapid, circular motion. Wipe away the toothpaste with a cloth to check your progress. If scuffing remains, reapply toothpaste and repeat buffing.

    • 4

Wipe the buffed area clean with a damp microfiber cloth. Apply a light amount of shoe polish to the leather heel and allow it to dry for about 30 minutes.

    • 5

Buff off the polish using a flannel cloth to restore the leather's sheen.
