# How to Remove Jean Stains on Nubuck Shoes
Nubuck is an animal skin similar to suede. The indigo dye of blue denim clothing often stains belts, shoulder bags and shoes. Commercial suede and leather cleaners are available for removing stains, but if you don’t use these products the right way, you can damage the delicate nubuck. However, a few home remedies are also effective in removing stains on nubuck.
Things You'll Need
- Towel
- Pencil eraser
- Suede brush
- White vinegar
- Cloth

Rub the denim stain with a towel. This absorbs any liquid still left in the stain.

Gently rub the stain with a pencil eraser to remove as much of the surface stain as possible.

Brush the nubuck shoes with a suede brush. This restores the nap of the nubuck.

Pour white vinegar onto a clean cloth.

Rub the cloth into the denim stain to apply the white vinegar. Continue to scrub the shoes to remove the stain. White vinegar removes stains that a pencil eraser can’t. Vinegar has acetic acid that gently cleans nubuck and suede.

Let the nubuck shoes air-dry.
