You're usually not thinking about what will happen when sticking an applique on your car or home window — and neither were your sticker-happy five-year-old or the retailer who stuck a price decal on your new wine goblet — but, eventually, even the most useful decals can become unnecessary. Nonporous glass, in theory, doesn't hold adhesive permanently, but, for stickers that have been in place for a while, they may need some help letting go.

1
Pour a half cup of vinegar into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the vinegar in the microwave for 30 seconds on high.
-
2
Stir the heated vinegar. It should be warm and not too hot to touch. If it's too hot, allow it to slightly cool.
-
-
3
Dip a sponge in the vinegar. Hold the sponge over the applique on the glass for 3 to 5 minutes.
-
4
Scrape the softened applique and adhesive from the glass with a razor blade.
-
5
Clean the glass with glass cleaner or, for glassware, soapy water.
