How to Get Fuzz Off a Corduroy Sofa

Like many fabrics, corduroy is susceptible to fuzz. Fuzz gets on a corduroy-upholstered sofa when your clothes rub against it. Work to remove the fuzz every few months, or as needed, to prevent the fuzz from making your sofa look old and worn. Use a vacuum cleaner and a fabric shaver to remove the fuzz from the sofa.

Instructions

    • 1

Using the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner, vacuum the entire surface of the corduroy sofa to remove loose fuzz. Remember to vacuum between the cushions.

    • 2

Shave the corduroy with a fabric shaver. Work with the ribs of the corduroy, and use light pressure to remove the fuzz without damaging the fabric. Continue until all of the fuzz is gone.

    • 3

Brush the corduroy with a nylon-bristle brush, if any fuzz is still visible. Work until all the fuzz is gone.
