How to Get Cooking Oil Out of Dish Cloths

Dish cloths are subject to a lot of wear and tear and in the kitchen. They are often the first thing you reach for to wipe up spills. They can also be subjected to greasy spatters; but if you have spilled cooking oil on your dish cloth, you can remove the stains using a few household items.

  • Cornstarch
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
  • Paper towel
  • Washing machine

      Sprinkle the oil stain with cornstarch to absorb any excess oil. Let it sit for a few minutes, then shake the cornstarch off.

      Apply a few drops of grease-fighting dish soap to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes. Blot excess soap with a clean paper towel.

      Wash the dish cloth in a washing machine. Check the manufacturer's directions for washing your cloth and use a hot water setting if possible.
