Blot up as much of the Minwax as possible with a clean cloth. Skip this step if the Minwax is already dry.
Mix three drops liquid dish soap with 1 cup lukewarm water.
Dab the soapy solution over the Minwax stain. Work from the edges of the stain toward the center and work the solution deep into the carpet fibers until it is completely gone.
Mix 1 tablespoon ammonia with 1 cup lukewarm water.
Blot the ammonia solution over the stain to remove the rest of the color. Work the stain into the carpet and gently scrub the surface to work the Minwax out of the carpet.
Dab non-acetone nail polish over the stain if you can still see it. Use as little of the solution as possible to remove the stain.
Mist water over the area and blot it dry. Continue until the cleaning solutions are rinsed from the carpet.
