Your trusty aluminum kettle has for years dutifully fulfilled its role in warming beverages, but lately it seems to be producing strange-tasting tea. The odd flavor is caused by a buildup of lime deposits, the result of brewing beverages with hard water. Scrubbing the aluminum kettle won’t remove the scale, but it is not time to replace your kettle just yet. You can use common, safe household ingredients to descale your aluminum kettle without altering the taste of your next cup of tea.
- 2 cups white vinegar
- Distilled water
- Microfiber cloth
