Instructions

    • 1

Place the cooled pot in the freezer for several hours if burned food is stuck to it. Remove the pot and scrape off the food with a butter knife, taking care not to damage the surface.

    • 2

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of baking soda across the bottom of the pot.

    • 3

Add 2 cups of white vinegar and enough water to cover any stains on the sides of the pot.

    • 4

Boil the vinegar and baking soda mixture for 5 minutes.

    • 5

Remove the pot from the stove once it has cooled enough to handle, and pour out the liquid.

    • 6

Scrub off any remaining residue using a scrub pad and hot, soapy water.

    • 7

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle salt on one of the open faces of the lemon. Rub the lemon over the pot's surfaces to brighten and shine the metal. Dry and buff the pot with a soft, clean cloth.
