When it comes to strong bonds, epoxy glue is in a class all its own. Epoxy bonds equally well with aluminum, wood, steel and plastic – making it ideal for a variety of building and home repair projects. The Kansas City Woodworkers Guild notes that epoxy glue does not dry in a thin, clear sheen. It is gap-filling and takes up space. While this quality is beneficial in certain applications, it renders mistakes much more noticeable. If you accidentally drop a drop of epoxy glue on your tile floor or countertop, you must tackle the spot immediately. Once epoxy glue cures, you may not be able to remove it.

Instructions

-
1
Scoop up as much of the glue as possible with a paper towel before it dries.
-
2
Scrape the remaining epoxy with a putty knife. Wipe the edge of the putty knife periodically with a paper towel. This removes drying epoxy residue from the knife – preventing it from ending up back on the tile as you scrape.
-
-
3
Pour acetone on the epoxy glue to soften the glue and make it easier to remove.
-
4
Boil 1 cup water.
-
5
Wipe away the acetone with a paper towel. Pour the boiling water on the epoxy glue stain. This weakens the epoxy’s bond with the tile.
-
6
Scrape away the remaining epoxy glue with a razor blade.
