Wipe the paint down with a damp rag or sponge. If the marker is water-based and not permanent, this may be all that is necessary to get the marker off a painted wall.
Wash the painted wall with soapy water made with approximately one quart of water and 1 tsp. of dish detergent. This may remove washable marker off of a painted wall.
Dab a dollop of mildly abrasive bathroom cleaner on a rag, and rub the marker stains in circular motions to remove them. Rinse the wall with a wet rag when finished.
Dampen a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, and wipe the marker off of the wall.
Wet a special cleaning eraser, and rub it gently on the wall to remove the marker. Do not press too hard or you’re more likely to damage the wall color.
Moisten a cotton ball with acetone or fingernail polish remover, and rub the marker stains off of the painted wall.
