How to Remove Burnt Stuff From an Induction Stovetop

Induction stovetops have a smooth glass surface that complements modern or contemporary decor. You cannot use the same cleaning methods to clean glass-top stoves as you would any other stove since the glass top can get easily scratched. For this reason, don’t use wire-bristled brushes or coarse steel wool. Instead, use nonscratch pads and mild cleaning solutions to work burnt food residue off the induction stovetop.

Things You'll Need

  • Nonscratch scrubbing pad

Instructions

    • 1

      Let the stovetop cool completely.

    • 2

Add just enough water to 4 tablespoons of baking soda to make a thick paste. Spread a quarter-sized amount of the baking soda paste to the burnt residue.

    • 3

Scrub the baking soda paste into the burnt residue with a nonscratch scrubbing pad. Scrub until the burnt residue is gone or until you cannot remove any more of it.

    • 4

Hold a razor to the surface of the stovetop at a 30-degree angle. Slide the razor over the area until the burnt residue is gone. Then, scrub the area with the nonscratch scrubbing pad.

    • 5

Rinse the area with water, and dry it completely with a clean cloth.
