How to Get ColorStay Lipstick Out of My Clothes

Lipstick is a great way to add a bit of flair to any outfit, whether casual or dressy. However, if you accidentally drop the open tube or brush your collar with your lips, you may be left with a garish stain. Revlon's ColorStay line of lipsticks is specifically designed to provide lasting coverage, so you'll need to tend to the stain as soon as possible to avoid permanent discoloration. With some basic household cleaning supplies, you'll restore the fabric of your stained clothes.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold a paper towel into a square pad and blot up as much of the lipstick as you can. Rinse the stain with cold water to keep the lipstick from setting within the fabric.

    • 2

Saturate a fresh paper towel with rubbing alcohol and wring out the excess. Dab the area until the lipstick no longer lifts. Rinse the area with cold water.

    • 3

Apply a prewash stain remover to any remaining lipstick and work it into the fabric gently with your fingertips.

    • 4

Launder the garment according to the instructions printed on the care tag.
