How to Remove Tire Marks From Clay Pavers

Clay pavers are a form of brick paver used for driveways and walkways. These bricks do not have holes in them, unlike the bricks used to make house walls. They are also fired at different temperatures than bricks used in home construction. Clay pavers are subject to a number of stains because of their outdoor exposure, and this includes tire marks. You can remove tire marks with a few household products, and if those do not work, you can move to a harsher chemical solution.

Instructions

Stuff the head of a stiff-bristled broom into a leg of a pair of pantyhose. Sprinkle non-iodized salt over the tire mark until it is completely covered.

Dampen the broom with water. Scrub the salt into the tire mark with the broom until the mark comes off. Rinse with water from a garden hose.

Pour an oil and paint remover onto the tire mark, if it will not come up with the salt. Follow the package directions for application. Let the remover soak as long as instructed.

Scrape off the softened tire mark with a putty knife. Rinse the area with a garden hose.
