How to Get Fryer Grease Off Cement

A fryer grease spill is never pleasant to clean up, but if it spills on cement, it creates a rather frustrating problem. Cement is a porous surface full of tiny holes for grease to seep into, making this stain challenging to remove. Rather than dealing with an ugly and highly noticeable grease stain serving only as a reminder of clumsiness, eliminate the stain with a few household items and no one will ever know it even happened.

Dry powdered cement mix
Broom and dust pan
Dish soap

Instructions

  Blot up fresh grease with newspapers. Use a coarse-bristled brush to loosen dried grease from the cement.

  Cover the entire stain with dry powdered cement mix.

  Leave the stain covered for 24 to 48 hours to allow the dry cement powder to absorb the grease.

  Clean up the powdered cement with a broom and dustpan and discard it.

  Pour hot water onto any leftover stain and drizzle grease cutting dish soap liberally over the area.

  Scrub the area with the hot soapy water and a coarse-bristled brush.

  Rinse the area off with clean water and allow it to dry. If the stain is still there, repeat the process until it is gone.
