Walkers are not solely for the elderly. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons notes that patients may need to use a walker after certain types of medical procedures. While a walker helps you get around while you recover from an injury or surgical procedure, the walker itself can wreck havoc on your hardwood floors. The rubber stoppers on the walker's legs scrape against flooring, leaving unsightly black scuff marks. Fortunately, scuff marks your walker left behind don't have to be a permanent stain on your hardwood floor.
