Removing Scuff Marks From Linoleum With a Tennis Ball

Linoleum is comprised of natural materials such as resin and sawdust to create a durable, non-porous and stain-resistant surface. Scuff marks can develop on the floors when you slide a shoe or a rubber mat over the linoleum. You can remove these using a tennis ball and some pressure. If this doesn’t work, use a solvent to dissolve the stain and weaken its hold on the linoleum floor.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold a tennis ball tight in your hand and rub it vigorously over the scuff mark on the linoleum floor. The nap from the tennis ball will help work off the scuff mark. Continue until the scuff is gone or until you can’t remove any more of it.

    • 2

Spray water displacement spray directly on a clean cloth if you can still see the scuff mark.

    • 3

Rub the cloth over the scuff mark until it is completely saturated.

    • 4

Let the scuff mark sit for several minutes.

    • 5

Scrub the stain off with a clean cloth.

    • 6

Rinse the floor with clear water and dry it completely and immediately.
