Guacamole Stain Removal

Guacamole is a thick, creamy dip made from avocados and a variety of other ingredients, including tomato, onion and lime juice. If you dropped some guacamole on your shirt while eating at a restaurant or during a dinner party, try to remove it as soon as possible for the best results. The longer the guacamole sits on the fabric, the more difficult the stain will be to remove.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the excess guacamole from the fabric by gently scraping it off with a clean, dull knife. Be careful not to press the food into the fabric.

    • 2

Rinse the fabric under cold, running water to remove the dip from the surface of the clothing item. Use your fingers to work off any food.

    • 3

Wring the fabric out to remove excess water. Add a drop or two of mild liquid laundry or dish soap, depending what you have on hand, to a bowl of warm water. Blend the solution until bubbles form.

    • 4

Use a soft cloth to work the soapy water into the guacamole stain. Continue dipping the cloth into the soapy water and applying it to the fabric until the stain is gone.

    • 5

Clean the clothing item in a washing machine according to the care label recommendations. Don't place the clothing into a dryer until the stain is completely removed, as the high temperature may cause the stain to set.
