Removing Sticky Marks on the Wall

Sticky residue show up when you take down posters put up with tape or sticky tack. The marks can be an eyesore and ruin the appearance of the wall. Gently remove the marks and restore the wall to what it once was. Several ways exist to remove sticky marks from walls, so choose one that works for you.

  • Hair dryer
  • Plastic card
  • Dull plastic knife
  • Cloth

Instructions

      Turn a hair dryer on low heat and aim it at the sticky mark. Let it heat up the sticky stuff for about 10 seconds, which will make the adhesive easier to remove.

      Scrape the residue gently with a plastic credit card or dull-edged plastic knife until it begins to come up. Rub the residue remains away with a soft cleaning cloth.

      Try vinegar to remove sticky residue. Dampen a clean cloth with undiluted white vinegar, and rub the adhesive with the cloth.

      Keep applying vinegar until you begin to rub away the adhesive.
