Instructions

    • 1

Wait for the cooktop to cool to a safe temperature.

    • 2

Wipe as much of the burnt sugar from the cooktop as possible with a rag and hot, soapy water. Rinse with a clean rag to remove any soap residue.

    • 3

Saturate the spot with an all-purpose cleaner. Let the cleaner sit on the sugar spot for five minutes, then scrub with a nylon scrubbing pad. Rinse the area with a clean, damp rag to remove any residue.

    • 4

Mix ¼ cup white vinegar and ¼ cup warm water in a bowl. Put the bowl in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds to heat the mixture.

    • 5

Pour some of the vinegar mixture directly onto the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

    • 6

Scrub the spot with a nylon scrubbing pad until the rest of the sugar is gone. Use a plastic pan scraper to chip away any tough spots. Rinse and dry the area well.

    • 7

Clean the cooktop with a stainless-steel cleaner after removing all of the sugar. Spray the cleaner onto a soft cloth and wipe in the direction of the grain. Buff dry with a clean cloth.
