How to Get Sweat Spots Out of My Mattress

If you get hot and sweaty at night, you may get sweat stains on your mattress. Removing such stains from a mattress may seem challenging because you are limited to the type of cleaner you can use on a mattress. But it may not be as difficult as you think, especially if you use the right ingredients for an at-home cleaner. If done correctly, you can easily remove sweat stains from your mattress.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the bedding from the mattress and make sure the mattress is dry.

    • 2

Apply a good amount of hydrogen peroxide to the stain. It is best to use a spray attachment so as not to saturate the mattress. Allow the hydrogen peroxide to sit for approximately eight minutes, according to Mrs. Clean.

    • 3

Blot the area dry using a dry cloth. Do not rub the area but apply enough pressure to bring up any remaining moisture.

    • 4

Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over the damp area to help remove moisture and odors associated with sweat stains. Let it sit for several hours or overnight before vacuuming it up.
