Removing White Spots on Wood Furniture With Vaseline

Water marks and steam can each leave white spots on your wood furniture. Regular cleaning alone cannot remove these white spots once they appear. There are several different home remedies that can remove the spots to varying degrees, but regular petroleum jelly from your local drug store is one of the remedies that requires the least amount of elbow grease.

Instructions

    • 1

Spread a layer of petroleum jelly over the white spots. Be sure to cover the spots completely, overlapping a little on the edges to remove all of the spots.

    • 2

Let the petroleum jelly sit on the wood overnight.

    • 3

Wipe the petroleum jelly away with a soft cloth. If any white spots remain, reapply the petroleum jelly and allow it to stand overnight again before removing it.

    • 4

Clean the wood with furniture cleaner and a soft cloth once the white marks are completely removed.
