A small amount of moisture on the surface of your leather is enough to cause newsprint ink to transfer from the paper to the leather. Regardless of whether the moisture is from water, sweat or oily moisturizer, once the newsprint stain occurs it must be removed carefully. Acetone-free nail polish remover
Clean cloths
White toothpaste
Leather cleaner and conditioner

Pour a quarter-sized amount of acetone-free nail polish remover on a clean cloth.

Dab at the newsprint ink stain on your leather surface. As the ink stain is lifted, move to a clean portion of the cloth. Continue to dab at the stain to remove as much as possible.

Blot the leather dry with another cloth.

White toothpaste is an effective, nonabrasive cleanser for stained leather.
Apply a pea-sized amount of white toothpaste to a cloth. Rub the toothpaste into the leather to remove the remaining ink stain.

Dampen a cloth with water. Wipe the toothpaste off the leather.

Clean the surface of your leather with a combination cleaner and conditioner. Buff excess cleaner off the leather with a dry cloth.
