How to Get Scuff Off of Leather Luggage

Many people try not to focus on the beauty of their new luggage, knowing that the first time it is checked onto a flight it will never look the same. Airline luggage handlers are not known for their gentle handling of your bags. Frequent travelers know to expect scuffs and scratches when they pick up their luggage from baggage claim. While you can’t prevent the scuffs that come with traveling ,you can minimize them. Your luggage will look a little more presentable and less travel weary.

Dry eraser cleaners
3 or 4 clean cloths
Lemon juice
Baby wipes
Leather conditioner

Instructions

  Scrub your leather luggage with a dry cleaning eraser. You can find them in the cleaning aisle of virtually every grocery store and warehouse department store.

  Apply lemon juice to a cloth and rub it over the scuff marks. Wipe the lemon juice off of your luggage with a damp cloth. Dry the luggage with a clean dry cloth.

  Wipe the scuff marks with a baby wipe. Replace the wipe with a clean new one when necessary. Depending on the number and severity of the scuffs on your luggage you may need one or multiple baby wipes.

  Apply leather conditioner to the luggage. Place a dime size portion of conditioner onto a clean cloth and rub it over the scuffs. In addition to minimizing or removing the scuff marks, leather conditioner also brightens your bag and makes it appear newer.
