How to Get ChapStick Out of Furniture

ChapStick is a petroleum-based lip balm that leaves behind an oily residue if it is wiped up with a damp cloth and a mild soap. ChapStick requires a different type of cleaner to completely eliminate the stain on furniture. Use a powerful, yet gentle cleaner because upholstery can be permanently damaged with water. A dry-cleaning solvent is effective at removing petroleum-based stains because it lifts the stain without damaging the delicate fabric of upholstered furniture.
