Removing Burn Marks From an Acrylic Kitchen Sink

Acrylic is known for its durability and good looks, but that does not mean that your acrylic sink is impervious to damage. Burn marks and scratches can mar the appearance of your acrylic sink, but the good news is that burn marks are relatively easy to remove from acrylic surfaces such as sinks and countertops.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the stopper in the bottom of the sink and fill the bowl with warm water. Add a few drops of a mild liquid soap. Add enough soap to make the water cloudy.

    • 2

Dip a clean soft cloth into the soapy water. Wipe the cloth over the burned area of the acrylic sink. Keep wiping the area until most of the discoloration from the burn is gone, then empty the sink bowl.

    • 3

Fill a bowl with one part baking soda to three parts water. Stir the solution with a spoon until you have a paste.

    • 4

Spread the baking soda paste over the burn marks. Massage the cleaning solution in with your fingers. Allow the paste to remain on the burn marks for about five minutes.

    • 5

Use an old toothbrush to scrub the paste off the burned area on the sink. Continue brushing the area until the burn mark is removed. Add more of the baking soda paste and repeat if the burn mark is still visible.
