How to Take Old Paint Off Wood and Slate Floors

Paint splatter must be removed from wood and slate surfaces immediately. Paint that is allowed to sit for even a few minutes can absorb into flooring material like slate and become difficult to wipe away. Slate will often require a cleansing agent that is capable of pulling the dye out of its pores. Since wood floors are typically sealed, old paint stains can often be removed with common household products.
