How to Clean Crayons From Floor

Unattended young children love to express their creativity by coloring on floors and walls. Even with proper supervision, crayons can roll off tables and mark up the floor below. You can remove crayon marks from tiled, wood and carpeted surfaces with common products available at grocery and hardware stores.

Things You'll Need

  • Plastic scraping tool or plastic knife
  • Baking soda
  • Sponge
  • Lubricating spray
  • Washcloth
  • Liquid dish detergent

  1. Wood or Tile

      Scrape off as much crayon as possible using a plastic scraping tool or knife.

      Shake baking soda over the stained area.

      Scrub the affected area gently with a damp sponge to remove the crayon.

    Carpet

      Scrape off as much crayon as possible using a plastic scraping tool or knife.

      Spray lubricant over the stain and allow it to sit for five minutes.

      Wipe the stained area in a circular motion with a washcloth dipped in a small amount of dish detergent.
