Instructions

Remove bathtub rings with oven cleaner. Spray your bathtub with the oven cleaner, and allow it to sit for three to four hours. Thoroughly rinse your tub. Wipe it dry with a soft, clean cloth.

    • 2

Clean rust stains from your ceramic bathtub. Pour some borax into a small bowl, and add enough lemon juice to make a thick paste. Apply a generous layer of paste to the rust marks and allow it to dry completely, which usually takes about two hours. Rinse your tub and then dry it with a soft cloth.

Remove hard water stains with white vinegar. Pour 3 cups of the vinegar into your tub, and fill it with hot tap water. Allow your bathtub to soak for four hours to give the stains time to lift. Drain the water, and scrub off any remaining marks with a scrubbing sponge.

Get gunky marks out of your ceramic tub. Combine one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts baking soda. Apply the paste to the marks, and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes. Scrub well until all of the gunk comes off. Rinse your tub.

Clean stubborn stains with oxalic acid. Dilute one part oxalic acid with ten parts clean water. Apply this mixture to any marks, and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse your bathtub thoroughly and then dry your tub with a clean cloth.

Get yellow marks out of your ceramic bathtub. Mix equal parts turpentine and salt. Put on rubber gloves, and dip a scrubbing sponge into the solution. Scrub the yellow stain until it lifts. Thoroughly rinse your bathtub and then dry it with a soft, clean cloth.
