Home Recipes for Carpet Stains From Pets

Instructions

    • 1

Scrape feces off the carpet with a plastic spoon. Discard both the waste and the spoon in a sealed trash bag.

    • 2

Press paper towels into the carpeting to absorb moisture from the stain. Repeat this until no further moisture is absorbed into the towels. Discard the paper towels in a sealed trash bag.

    • 3

Place 2 tablespoons of meat tenderizer in a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Stir the two with a spoon until blended well.

    • 4

Cover the stained carpet with the meat tenderizer and baking soda mixture. Allow the mixture to remain on the carpet for 20 minutes; the meat tenderizer breaks down the protein in the urine or feces while the baking soda absorbs the odor. Vacuum the carpeting to remove the powdered mixture.

Rinse the carpet by sponging it with a damp cloth. Absorb the moisture with dry cloths before allowing your carpet to air dry.
