Removing Desitin From Microfiber

If you've ever tried to change the diaper of a crying or fidgety baby, then you know that accidents can happen -- and not just for the baby. Many parents and caregivers have spilled Desitin on carpet in their haste to help heal a baby's sore bottom. The condition isn't permanent, as the zinc oxide contained in Desitin lifts up from microfiber like a charm with the aid of baking soda.

Things You'll Need

• Craft sticks
• Baking soda
• Sponge
• Dish soap

     Scrape as much of the Desitin from the rug as possible with a craft stick or another dull object.

     Sprinkle some baking soda on the remainder of the stain and let it sit for an hour. Baking soda is good at absorbing grease.

     Lift the Desitin with another craft stick.

   • 4

     Blot the stain with a sponge dipped in a mixture of hot water and dish soap.

   • 5

     Repeat the blotting action until all traces of the Desitin stain are gone.
