How to Iron Ultrasuede

Ultrasuede is a brand of fabric that resembles natural suede leather, with a raised nap that changes its look as you run your hand over it. The fabric has a very tight weave that repels stains and does not require much maintenance. Ultrasuede is manufactured to be wrinkle-free, so you don't often need to iron it. However, if you've crumpled it or left it in the dryer for too long, you might have to iron out wrinkles.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush the fabric with a suede brush to brush the nap in the same direction. This will remove any dirt or dust particles from the fabric before you apply heat. Heat can set stains, so it is important to make sure dirt isn't built up in the fabric.

    • 2

Lay the Ultrasuede on an ironing board. Smooth it out with your hands and lay a cotton cloth over the Ultrasuede.

    • 3

Turn your iron on to the synthetics or low setting. The iron should not be above 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 4

Iron over the cotton cloth until the wrinkles are gone from the Ultrasuede. Move the cotton cloth so that it is always between the iron and the Ultrasuede.
