How to Fold a Contour Sheet

Folding bed linens entails the neat management of both the top flat sheet and the fitted contour sheet. Because the top sheet contains only a flat expanse of fabric, folding this sheet is a straightforward process. The fitted contour sheet has special corners that fit around the mattress to hold it securely in place, making it more challenging to fold. Fold a contour sheet neatly before putting it away in the linen closet.

  Lay out the contour sheet so the wrong side of the sheet faces up.

  Fold the contour sheet in half by bringing the two top corners down to the two bottom corners. Match the seams of the contour corners and tuck the bottom corners into the top corners.

  Fold the contour sheet in half again right edge to left edge by bringing all four corners together. Tuck the four contour corners into a neat stack.

  Place the folded sheet onto a flat surface so the four sewn corners are in the upper left corner. Straighten the folds and edges neatly.

  Fold the sheet in half by bringing the top edge down to meet the bottom edge. Fold the sheet in half again by bringing the right edge over to meet the left edge. Fold the sheet in half a final time by bringing the right edge over to the left edge again.

  Straighten the edges of the folds and press the sheet lightly with your hands to make it neat.

  Fold the flat sheet to make it the same size approximately as the contour sheet.
