Washing lines, more commonly called clotheslines, allow you to dry your washed clothes outside or inside without using a dryer. This air- and/or sun-powered dryer is fairly easy to create; very few supplies and tools are required. It's also a cost-effective way to dry your clothes. Problems with a washing line include sagging, bad weather and lack of easy of access. With the right setup and maintenance, these problems can be solved.

- Wash-line tightener

Insert two hooks opposite each other on a post, house or tree.

Attach a pulley to both hooks and thread the wash line through the pulleys.

Knot one end to the wash-line tightener and thread the other end through the clothesline tightener. Pull until tight.
