How to Dry Nylon

Nylon fabric does not absorb moisture easily and is therefore quite easy to dry. This low maintenance fabric does not even require ironing once dry. Hand washing and air drying nylon fabric is best because machine washing and drying can cause it to develop small balls of fiber. Nylon fabric may also become torn or damaged when it is machine washed. Plus, nylon contains elements of plastic, making it prone to melting under high temperatures.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove excess water from nylon fabric by rolling it up. Do not stretch the nylon when you are rolling it because if it will affect the shape once dry.

    • 2

Hang the nylon fabric on a coat hanger. Do not clip the nylon to the hanger because the clips can leave marks in the nylon that will still be visible upon drying. Fold the material in half and lay it over the hanger.

    • 3

Hang up the hanger in a ventilated room. If you are in a hurry, you can hang the hanger near a fan or an air vent to speed up the drying time.

    • 4

Reposition the nylon fabric on the hanger after it has been air drying for an hour or two. Unfold it and refold it so the part of the material that was facing inward is now facing outward. Hang the hanger back up and wait 30 minutes to one hour for the nylon to finish drying.
