How to a Wash Colors With Vinegar

Vinegar is a miracle liquid that can be used in a wide variety of processes to aid in obtaining a favorable outcome. One area in which vinegar's properties excel is laundry. Vinegar can act as a natural fabric softener. It can remove stains from clothing, and brighten whites and colors. The acids in vinegar are too mild to damage clothing. Rather, it acts as an enhancer for the fabric and colors.

Instructions

    • 1

Use only distilled white vinegar for laundering fabrics.

    • 2

Add 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar to the rinse cycle to brighten colored fabrics.

    • 3

Soak colored fabrics in white distille vinegar for 4 to 5 minutes before washing them to help lock in the dye.

    • 4

Add 1 cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle of the washing machine. The acid in vinegar break down soap and detergent residue, and removes more dirt and stains.

    • 5

Rub armpit stains caused by anti-perspirants and deoderants with distilled white vinegar prior to washing. This helps remove stains.
