How to Wash Men's Moccasin Slippers

Moccasin slippers have long been worn by men as a comfortable type of footwear that keeps feet warm while allowing flexibility. Moccasins are made of leather, which is durable and holds in warmth. Keeping the leather clean is fairly easy, but it can crack and deteriorate if it becomes overly dry. This makes it important to hand-wash moccasins with a moisturizing element.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush the moccasin slippers with an old toothbrush to release any loose dirt.

    • 2

Drizzle a cleaning rag with 1 tbsp. leather cleaner and conditioner. This type of solution, available from leather shops and shoe stores, provides the appropriate amount of cleaning solution and moisturizer for leather.

    • 3

Rub the solution into the moccasins, using small circular motions to work it in well while getting rid of any buildup. Continue cleaning the moccasins, and add new solution as needed. Let the moccasins air-dry.

    • 4

Sprinkle baking soda inside the moccasins to deodorize them if you notice any unpleasant smell. The soda will collect odor and sweat, leaving the shoes smelling fresh. Let the baking soda sit overnight. Tap the shoes over a trash can the next day to remove the baking soda.
