Bleach whitens fabric and sanitizes. Yet, it can also strip the dye from fabric and eat right through the fibers. While you might use beach when washing your white towels, sheets and socks, do not add it to your colored linens and clothing. It will probably get your reds cleaner, while turning them pink. Before using bleach on your laundry, read the fabric care label. The manufacturer might warn against using bleach, regardless of how it is applied.
