Homemade Clothing Wrinkle Reducers

Getting wrinkles out of clothing can be distressing. Some fabrics can't be ironed, for instance, while some that can may have sat in your drawer for so long that an iron won't erase the creases. There are several homemade options you can try to remove the wrinkles from your clothing.
  1. Vinegar

    • Mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts water in a plastic spray bottle. Spray the vinegar mixture on the wrinkled clothing to saturate the wrinkles, and allow the garment to hang dry. The vinegar will remove the wrinkles and the smell will dissipate.

    Aluminum Foil

    • The aluminum foil option is good for delicate items of clothing. Place a sheet of aluminum foil on the ironing board and your garment on top of the foil. Use the steam setting on your iron to steam the wrinkles out of the garment. The foil helps trap the heat and helps ease wrinkles away.

    Steam

    • Turn on the shower in your bathroom with the water very hot. Once steam starts to issue from the shower, hang the garment nearby and shut the door. Let the garment steam for half an hour to remove wrinkles, longer if necessary.

    Dryer

    • Toss wrinkled garments into the dryer to remove wrinkles. Toss a towel into the dryer with the wrinkled items to help get the wrinkles out faster. Let the dryer run on a warm setting for about 15 minutes.
