How to Clean Slip-on Sneakers

Slip-on sneakers typically come in two fabric types: canvas or suede. Suede takes more time and effort to clean than canvas, but they both wear the same. The only real difference is the person's preference. Several companies, such as Converse, Vans, and Nike, produce slip-on sneakers, but the way they suggest to clean their shoes differs. The key to cleaning your particular brand of shoe is reading the care instructions on the tag.

      Brush with a soft wire brush to remove mud and other larger bits of dirt.

      Combine 1 teaspoon of mild detergent with 2 to 3 cups of cold water.

      Dip a soft cloth into the detergent mix.

      Clean the shoes without soaking them. Let them air dry.
