How to Fix a Burn in a Shirt

One of the easiest and most common ways to ruin a shirt is by accidentally burning it with an iron. But if you've put a burn mark on a shirt that you just can't let go, you may be able to remedy the situation. As long as the fabric is white and the burn isn't so severe that it actually damaged the fibers, you might be able to save your shirt.

Instructions

Try setting the shirt out in the sun for a day or two with the burn in direct sunlight. This may work if the shirt is white and the burn is minor.

    • 2

Soak the shirt in cold water while the burn is fresh. Leave it in the water for about 24 hours.

    • 3

Bleach the burn out with hydrogen peroxide and a press cloth. This may work if the burn is on the surface and hasn't penetrated the fabric.
