Place the silk shirt inside out on the ironing board.
Turn the iron to the cool setting, usually indicated as "Silk" on the iron.
Iron as you usually do, being careful not to overheat the shirt or cause it to become damp, which can cause rings in the shirt.
Hang up the shirt in the bathroom while you take a shower, as the humidity may naturally remove the wrinkles.
Turn the iron on and set it to "Cotton."
Stretch the skirt section of the dress over the point of the ironing board.
Move the iron over the skirt using quick strokes. Work from the bottom to the top for dresses with pleats.
Stretch the top of the dress over the ironing board's point, or flatten it on top of the board if it won't stretch over the board.
Iron the back first, and then the front, working from the top down.
