How to Get Cobwebs Off Fabric

Few housecleaning chores are as annoying as cleaning cobwebs out of your home, unless those cobwebs happen to be attached to the fabric on your curtains or furniture. Cobwebs are spider webs that have been abandoned and, over time, have gathered dust and debris. This gives them a feathery look that is nonetheless very sticky. Although it is a little tricky to get cobwebs off fabric, a few techniques will have you spick-and-span in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the nozzle on the vacuum cleaner to suction off any loose cobwebs or large clumps.

    • 2

Roll a lint roller evenly over the fabric, to pick up the stray sticky pieces. Use a fresh piece on the lint roller, if it is no longer picking up the cobwebs.

    • 3

Machine wash the fabric, if it's washable, using the setting recommended for the type of material.

    • 4

Use a cobweb cleaning solution to treat material that still retains traces, even after using the lint roller. A cobweb remover specifically breaks down the adhesion properties of the web, making it easier to remove.
