How to Kill Bedbugs in Sheets & Blankets

Anyone who frequently stays in hotels has probably encountered bedbugs. These small bugs hide in mattresses and bed clothing, and they feed on your blood while you are asleep. While a person may not feel it when the bugs bite, unexplained welts and itchiness normally indicate their presence. It is easy to bring bedbugs home with you in your clothing or luggage. If bedbugs have infested your sheets and blankets, you can get rid of them with pesticides and extreme temperatures of hot or cold.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray a bedbug pesticide under and around the mattress to kill bugs that are hiding in the bed.

    • 2

Wash the bed linen in hot water.

    • 3

Dry the bed linen on the dryer’s hottest cycle.

    • 4

Place items in a freezer or any climate below 25 degrees if they are too fragile to wash.
