How to Get Pizza Sauce out of a White Jersey

Your favorite team playing against their rivals, your friends and pizza can create a terrible endgame for your white jersey. The acids in the tomato sauce can embed into the fibers of your clothing. The sauce can be removed, but you will need to be on the offensive and remove it as soon as possible before it can make the first down. Once it gets into the end zone, it can stain your jersey, and a dry cleaner may be the only one who can save the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Blot away the pizza sauce with a dry cloth. Do not rub, this can cause the sauce to spread and to dig deeper into the fabric.

    • 2

Blot at the sauce with a slightly damp, warm sponge. Hot water activates the molecules and causes them to stick to the fabric.

    • 3

Apply a pre-wash stain remover product to the fabric. Follow the product’s instructions for use.

    • 4

Apply a grease-removing dishwashing detergent to the stain. Mix in to the fabric well.

    • 5

Launder per the garment’s instructions. Do not dry the jersey.

    • 6

Check to see if the stain has been removed. If it hasn't, repeat the pre-wash treatment process.

    • 7

Dry the garment only after the stain has been removed. If the stain can't be removed, take it to the dry cleaner for removal.
