How to Get Stains Out of Vintage Quilts

Vintage quilts are a collectible. For other people, vintage quilts are heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. It is common for vintage quilts to have stains. However, due to the fragile nature of vintage quilts, in some cases, it is best to leave a stain alone. Trying to remove stains can cause irreparable damage to the quilt. Correctly identifying a stain presents another problem with vintage quilts. However, if you insist on removing a stain from a vintage quilt, experts recommend using products with sodium perborate, an oxygen bleaching agent found in many laundry products.

Things You'll Need

  • Laundry product containing sodium perborate, such as Clorox 2, Oxiclean, Csy-Boost
