How to Get a Bad Smell Out of Dish Cloths

A smell can permeate after a dish cloth is used. The bacteria from left-behind food particles are causing the smell. To remove the smell, you must remove the bacteria. This is a day-today regimen you will have to endure. The left-over bacteria are spreading to other dishes, counters and anything else you use them on. A little preventive maintenance can help you create a good habit of killing off those germs and that smell forever.

Hang the dish cloth up to dry in a fashion where the inside material receives plenty of ventilation.

    Burn the Bacteria

    • 5

Wring out the dish cloth after use.

    • 6

Place the dish cloth in the microwave on high for one minute.

    • 7

Open the microwave door and look to see if there is steam coming from it. If not, microwave another 20 seconds. When the dish cloth is hot enough to create steam, then it is hot enough to kill most bacteria. You can do this with you sponges as well.
