How to Make Bleach Spray Jeans

You can create unique looks with your jeans by fading them. Bleach is an effective way to remove the indigo dye used in most blue jeans. Many stores sell faded or acid-washed jeans, however they are often more expensive than regular blue jeans. If you want to save money, and create a custom look for your jeans, you can bleach them at home with a spray bottle

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a sink with cold water. Submerge the jeans and leave them in the water for 10 minutes.

    • 2

Hang the jeans from the shower curtain rod. Do not wring them out.

    • 3

Place old towels or newspapers on the floor under the wet jeans to prevent damage.

    • 4

Fill a spray bottle with 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach.

    • 5

Spray the jeans at the top on both sides. Saturate this area of the jeans. The bleach will run down the pants, creating a gradual bleaching effect from bottom to top.

    • 6

Let jeans air dry for 30 minutes.

    • 7

Fill a sink with cold water. Put on gloves and submerge the jeans. Wait one to two minutes and remove them from the water. This dilutes any bleach that had not dried.

Hang the jeans back on shower rod to dry completely.
