Brush dried stains off clothes with a dry paper towel. Another option is using a dry wash cloth.
Remove blood, hair dye and furniture polish stains from clothes by pouring a small amount of bleach onto the stain. Let the bleach work on the stains for a few minutes. Wash the garment as usual. Make certain the bleach is safe for the color and type of fabric.
Remove grape juice, ink, felt marker and cranberry juice stains by pouring a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a sponge. Wipe the alcohol onto the stain to fade it. Wash the garment with regular laundry. Rubbing alcohol also works for oil-based or grease stains.
Pour club soda onto red wine stains. Let the soda soak in for 10 minutes, and then wash the garment with laundry detergent.
Pretreat resistant mud and dirt stains by pouring on a little liquid laundry detergent. Leave the detergent on for a few minutes then wash the garment as usual.
