How to Get Chapstick Stain Out of Clothes That Have Been Dried

The first tube of Chapstick was created by Dr. Charles Browne Fleet in the early 1880s and originally looked like a small candle covered with foil. Today, Chapstick is sold across the globe, from the United States to South Korea and New Zealand. The modern formula for Chapstick brand lip balm contains beeswax, camphor, Vitamin E and aloe, all ingredients that melt into a garment after it is placed in the dryer. It is possible to remove set-in Chapstick stains from your clothing.

Instructions

    • 1

Dampen a white cloth with dry cleaning solution. Blot at the stain with the solution for three to five minutes. The dry cleaning solution begins to lift the stain from the garment.

    • 2

Create a paste with 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup waterless hand cleaner. Continue to add more baking soda to the mixture until a paste consistency is achieved.

    • 3

Spread a thin layer of the baking soda mixture over the stain. Work the mixture into the garment with a soft-bristled toothbrush and allow it to remain for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it away with warm water.

    • 4

Launder the garment according to the label’s instructions. Examine the garment for any remaining stain before placing it in the dryer. If the stain persists, repeat applying the baking soda mixture on the stain until it is gone.
